Sunday August 2nd the team of our Santarcangelo office has forgotten for a day drawings, calculations and construction sites to try its luck in the Marecchia Sailing Cup in Rimini, probably the most competitive (yet funny) sailing competition ever! The challenge? Design and build from zero a vessel using only recycled materials and take it to the finish line. Having imagined, assembled and launched our “floating vehicle”, we sailed the racing distance (about 1.5 km) from the San Giuliano beach to the Rivabella beach, going up the river Marecchia until the bridge of via Coletti.
With some surprises, many laughs and the right amount of competitive spirit, the ENSER team “Engineeringly unstable” has undertaken the race relying on the same qualities that are required in our daily work: collaboration, creativity, problem solving and the desire to reach the goal together. After a challenging race, our crew has crossed the finish line in a good position, but the “mission accomplished” consisted of sharing a new experience, building up out team spirit, giving value to each one's contribution and… giving us two days of great fun.
Now we know that teamwork is enhanced not only in the office or in the construction site: sometimes it can grow on board of an improvised vessel, that eventually proved to be… Engineeringly stable!
