new building to serve as business incubator, located in the Park of Arts and Sciences “Evangelista Torricelli” in Faenza
Within a joint-venture of other engineers and architects, ENSER was in charge of the geological and geotechnical studies, the Final and Detailed Design and the Project Management of a new building to be used as business incubator, inside the Park of Arts and Sciences “Evangelista Torricelli” in Faenza.
The building is divided in four separate modules, for a total length of 155m, a width of 14m and a height of 10m. The four modules are structurally connected by two internal staircases, called Scala A and Scala B, with a steel hanging structure. At one end of Module 3 there is also a traditional steel staircase.
Along the South side of the building there is a gallery created by columns of laminated wood and a “brise-soleil” aluminium cover. At the West side the gallery is supported by a steel shelter connected to Module 1A structures.
The four modules have a concrete structure with precast concrete floor slabs, with the exception of Module 1A for which large span hollow core slabs have been envisaged.
The shallow foundations consist of a system of concrete inverted beams.
