The design concerns the main landfill body and its access road. The distinctive feature of this activity is the nature of the soil at the foundation of the landfill, characterized by small valleuys and badland formations. The landfill final preparation includes the construction of two bunds (one at the toe of the landfill, one halfway) and the reshaping of the base soil in several banks with the use of lime stabilization techniques.

The bund at the toe is founded on concrete bored piles of diameter 1'000mm, connecting the bund directly to the bedrock. The cross section of this bund include two clear zones:

• The inner core made of soil stabilized with lime (ratio 5.5%). Which is the volume of the bund with the largest mechanical characteristics;
• The remaining part made of soil stabilized with lime (ratio 3.5%).

At the base of the landfill an HDPE sheath has been laid with improved grip characteristics.
