Project summary

The existing quay, built in the years 1960s, is made of prefabricated concrete sheet piles reinforced qieh passive anchors. In view of the deepening of the seabed from -9.4m to -12m, and of new design loads on the platform, the project included the realization, behind the existing sheet piles, of 3 rows of bored piles with diameter 800 to 1000mm and spacing of 3.75m.

On the seaside a sheet pile wall (Arbed AZ18) of 23.5m lenght has been designed, including the filling with concrete of the gap between the new sheet pile wall and the existing one.

On the slab connecting the head of the piles, 18m long tie rods are inserted with and additional bulb length of 29m. In addition, parallel to the tie rods but seawards, micropiles of approx. 50m length have been designed.
