Project summary

The Oman National Railway Project consists of approx. 2'135 km of railway line, which will connect the Oman border with the United Arab Emirates (Al Ain and Khatmat Milahah) to Muscat, as part of the GCC railway network, and in the South part of the country to the Ad Duwm and Salahah ports and to the border with Yemen.

The project will consist of a non-electrified double track railway for the traffic of both passengers and cargo, that will connect the cities, the ports and the growing productive zones of the Sultanate.

The entire project is divided in 9 separate segments. ENSER was involved in the following segments:

  • Segment 2, Hafeet – Fahud, 315km;
  • Segment 6, Nakhal – Sinaw, 153km;
  • Segment 7, Sinaw – Ibra, 67km.
