Project summary

The intervention consisted of the demolition of an existing masonry bridge, for reasons of hydraulic safety, and the realization of a new arch bridge on a different alignment to allow the transit, also during the construction stages, across the Canale Allacciamento.

The arch concept has been chosen in agreement with the Soprintendenza per i Beni Architettonici e per il Paesaggio di Ravenna for aesthetic reasons and for continuity with respect to the previous structure (with 3 arches below the deck).

The works included the shifting of al the electrical, telephonic and hydraulic networks which affected the neighboring roads.

The new bridge has been recognized as an improvement also from the environmental point of view, considering the aspects of landscaping, noise and gas emission (the latter due to the higher transit speeds).
